What defines humans as significantly different?

Religious philosophy often point to reason,

-as mans imprint.

Less observant minds suggest the process of work

-and feelings of love,

Though alas, Tis none of the above.

The unique quality in human kind, is not,

The cancerous overpopulation, opposable thumbs

or social nature

Nor is it the destructive behavior,

of the

- religious creature

What makes man different is not general to the whole,

Yet a virtue that few manage to develop,

by the time death, eventually envelops.

Therefore, most

-though how we may refuse,

Live out their existence in the same undivine way

Where ours habits,

-we don’t necessarily choose

Resemble squirrels at work, and at play.

Of course, there is little negativity in that fact,

other than illustrating the absurdity of human arrogance.

What are the qualities that make us human?

The ability the stand on the shoulders our predecessors pain

For a single being, without the knowledge of centuries past

is nothing but a mammal, caught in the midst of nature’s chain,

-perhaps even last.

So, the individual

With no external influence

What makes it human, what makes it a nuisance?

Start with a definition,

An ability to step out of the present reality

acknowledging infinite places where things may stand.

Where the endless apparition, of what could be

may be found tangible, even likely

and then there, you may find man.

To see a true meaning of humility,

an appreciation for all known and unknown.

Insight, the missing link, the gene of humanity

that only a few have found,

To see within,

-with out abstracting the out.
